As with any website, designing CARTO's commercial site took a lot of thought and balancing of the diverse departmental goals and company purposes that were at play.
CARTO obviously sees its website as the main marketing touchpoint of the company, so beyond being able to clearly communicate the value of its products and attract new users, it also needed to be great at lead generation.
Explaining the concept of Location Intelligence so that diverse audiences, ranging from top-level decision makers to experienced developers, would understand it... well, it takes a village. It meant being very deliberate about our product marketing but also creating great documentation sites and blogs to guide users on how to use our products to find valuable insights from their own location data.
